Skeletal System

Skeletal-System.jpg

Skeletal System is all of the bones in the body and the tissues such as tendons, ligaments, and cartilage that connect them.  Babies have more bones than adults.  At birth, a baby has 300 bones.  As the baby grows, the smaller bones join together and end up with about 206 bones in adults.

Bones need regular exercise to stay strong.  Walking, jogging, cycling, and other outdoor activities make bones strong and healthy.  Calcium intake helps bones harden and become strong.
